The AESS is a registered charity and its members comprise performers, teachers and those with an interest in our core aim, which is ‘to encourage the communication of English words, in singing and speech, with clarity, understanding and imagination'.

STOP PRESS - 5th October 2008

The AESS has been notified by the Patricia Routledge Charitable Trust, that the prize fund for our Senior Prize has been raised from £2000 to £5000 from 2009 and will run untl 2012. The Association is overwhelmed by the generosity of Miss Routledge and grateful for all her support. She has asked that the first prize be £2000 and that the runner-up, the third place performer and the winning accompanist each receive £1000.
